Re-Released
JACKSON, MS
- Just in time for the Egg Bowl comes the
online re-release, for the first time in eight years, of the
classic CD, ”The Rebels are Rolling” by the popular Jackson
band, the Bluz Boys.
Comprised of six original songs
composed and produced by Ridgeland songwriter Steve Acker
and a special “Bluz” version of Forward Rebels, “The
Rebels are Rolling” was a big hit in 1999 and 2000, selling
in the thousands in the Ole Miss Book Store and in gift
shops and sporting goods stores around the state. (All
Aboard) The Rebel Express and The Hotty Toddy Song
were stadium favorites. The CD also includes The Egg
Bowl Blues, an ode to the classic annual showdown
between Mississippi’s two great rivals.
Now the CD and its individual songs
are available again to download online. Fans can listen to
samples of each song before they buy and they can select
only two songs to download at 99 cents each or download the
entire seven-song CD for $5.
The seventh bonus CD song is titled
My Mississippi Home.
Composed by Acker and Jackson radio talk show host Paul
Gallo, My Mississippi Home was proposed as a new
state song by State Senator Walter Michel. Singer Lisa
Palmer imbues this inspiring tribute to our great state with
passion and conviction.
